In December 2023, the first mini-symposium, "Venom in the Hobby," took place. It was an informative event focused on venom and its applications.
The Herpetofauna Foundation aims to regularly organise symposia on subjects where important scientific knowledge can be exchanged, while also addressing themes relevant to hobbyists. Collaboration between science and animal caretakers is crucial to optimise research, conservation, and animal welfare. Reptiles and amphibians are stunning and highly adapted to their habitats. But how can we best protect their environments and the species themselves? This multidisciplinary symposium is a must for herpetologists, biologists, ecologists, and nature enthusiasts.

In October 2019, the Herpetofauna Foundation and EduPet held the second international symposium. The focus was on venomous snakes as ambassadors for nature conservation and education.
In October 2017, the first major multi-day symposium on reptiles and amphibians was held in the Netherlands. The Herpetofauna Foundation and EduPet, organized the two-day event.
