Dear enthusiast of reptiles and amphibians,
To our great regret, we must cancel the symposium on the biodiversity of reptiles and amphibians due to unforeseen circumstances.
We thank everyone for the interest shown and will of course keep you informed about our plans to organise a new symposium in the Netherlands in 2027.
The topic and speakers will be announced in due course. If you have any questions, you may of course contact us.
On behalf of the herpetofauna team, thank you for your understanding.
The symposium “The Biodiversity of Reptiles and Amphibians – Their Crucial Role in Healthy Ecosystems” is a three-day event with a program tailored to different audiences:
This day is specially designed for students, teachers, educators, and academic institutions involved in biology, ecology, animal care, or environmental management.
The lectures and workshops on Friday focus on expanding knowledge and integrating current herpetological themes into education. Ideal for vocational and university students, as well as anyone with an educational focus or interest.
The weekend program is aimed at professionals and specialists in the field, including herpetologists, conservation biologists, ecologists, policy makers, researchers, wildlife professionals, zookeepers, and veterinarians. Serious enthusiasts with a passion for reptiles, amphibians, and biodiversity are also more than welcome.
Saturday and Sunday offer an in-depth, internationally oriented program featuring leading speakers from around the world. Both days are included in one weekend ticket.
We are honoured to welcome speakers from no fewer than 13 different nationalities, all working in diverse fields of herpetology and conservation biology. Among them are extensively published scientists, Future for Nature award winners, and highly decorated experts in their respective areas. This guarantees participants an exceptional level of lectures that promise to inspire.
