Snakefest Kids is a special edition of the annual benefit festival by Stichting Herpetofauna and Poppodium Phoenix, this time made just for children aged 6 to 14!
At this fun and educational event, snakes take center stage as play, music, and learning come together in a varied afternoon program.
Kids can join exciting workshops, learn from live animal presentations, and finish off with a festive youth disco. It’s all about nature, fun, and raising awareness.
With your ticket for just €5, you’re also supporting projects that protect endangered animals and their habitats. Parents and caregivers get in for free!
For the first time, Herpetofauna Foundation, together with our Astro Rangerclub, is organizing a special kids edition of the Snakefest Festival!
This year, Stichting Herpetofauna and Poppodium Phoenix are raising funds for two important causes:
• Protecting the endangered Orinoco crocodile in Venezuela – Heavily hunted for its skin in the 19th and 20th centuries, this species now numbers fewer than 3,000 adults in the wild.
• Planting mangrove forests in Kenya – Brain Youth Group is working to restore natural mangrove habitats. This crucial work helps save countless reptiles and amphibians from a path toward extinction.

In the evening, the main Snakefest festival kicks off with music, even more animals, and much more!
I’m a radiated tortoise (Astrochelys radiata) from Madagascar, and I came to the Netherlands years ago to become the mascot of the Herpetofauna Foundation. It’s such a cool job! I love telling people about all the reptiles and amphibians that could really use some help.
We’re passionate nature protectors and we love visiting schools to share fun facts about nature and animals! Whether it's through one of our school projects or something else, we're always up for new ideas. Maybe you have a cool activity in mind at your school where we can join in and make it extra special!

Together with your friends, you'll learn all about animals and their habitats through our exciting school projects. Plus, you can become an ambassador or a content creator for our club!
