Thomas Schrei is a Guatemalan biologist and Field Director of the Foundation for the Endangered Species of Guatemala (FUNDESGUA). Since 2011, he has dedicated his career to the conservation of Guatemalan reptiles, with a particular focus on range-restricted species. He has led a conservation program for the Guatemalan beaded lizard (Heloderma charlesbogerti) and plays a key role in the conservation of the Campbell’s alligator lizard (Abronia campbelli), where he directs field operations including habitat restoration, conservation education, and research activities. His work aims to build lasting conservation models rooted in science, community collaboration, and long-term habitat stewardship.
