Mbarak Abdalla was born on 21st June 1987 in Kwale County of Kenya. He was raised up in Kwale then moved in to Mombasa where he is to date carrying and practicing forest restoration works.
Education
He studied in Kizibe Primary School in the years 1996-2004 and Burani High School both in Kwale Conty of Kenya. He managed to attend several trainings, workshops and seminars to nature his career path.
Further studies
Mubarak attended a Coastal Marine Ecosystems workshop at Wildlife Club of Kenya, Mombasa - KENYA. Giraffe Centre. He was trained on Sustainable Management of the Mombasa County Peri-Urban Mangrove Forest. He was also trained at Kwetu Training Centre, Kilifi County, KENYA on Enhancing Mariculture development training course.
Another training that he has undergone is on Community Based Mangrove Ecological Restoration (CBMER) by Wetlands International in collaboration with MAP in Rufij Delta, Tanzania
Work experience
Since 2020 February to date, Mbarak has been the Camp Coordinator for Camp Mombasa Mangrove Forest under Ecosystem Restoration Camps (ERC). He is also the Youth Ambassador in Kenya for Wetlands International. He is also the Founder and President for Brain Youth Group and Forest Restoration Agency in Kenya. He is also the Good will Ambassador of Awakening Planet in Kenya and the liaison Officer for One Better World.
With the help of the community members, Mbarak has been in a position to carry out successful projects such as those of mariculture, apiculture, school outreach programs and had also restored 3.95 Million mangrove trees and installing 270 bee hives along Tudor creek. He has also worked to ensure that terrestrial trees apart from mangrove are restored. These projects have been a success through the support of different donors and partners such as UNDP-SGP,IDEA WILD, Climate Partner Impact, Rituals, Radicant Bank, Equity Bank Group, Platinum Credit Limited, Leaving a legacy, Herpetofauna Foundation, Slovak Aid, KCDP-World Bank funded project, Trillion Tree Campaign, Ecosystem Restoration Communities, Gone West global, Global Green Grants, local and international individuals.
